There comes a time in life when you have to let go of all the preconceptions around you. You may carry a belief around like I have for 32 years and need to let it go. I have never been happy with my body since I was twelve .. and its time to stop. The weight is not a true reflection of me and my soul. Yes I am carrying a bit more than I did a couple of years ago I am also hitting near 50 and change of life and my body is changing. I am healthy and happy with the energy I have – yes I need to eat more. Still a thought pattern of 32 years takes time to let go. I am happy with how I am now .I don’t need to prove anything to anyone even myself. My body is amazing as is it gets me through every day and acts in harmony with every action I do and don’t ask. No matter what punishment I throw at it ..it gets back up and says hey I got this lets go! It’s amazing every wrinkle, every stretchmark, every line I am perfect as I have always been even when too blind to see it. I am learning to love this body more every day as it’s a great and unique gift. I get out of bed, I can move, no pain, enjoy life, music, food and movement like dance. I am blessed and am grateful for the body that houses my soul. It’s a journey in progress and weight is not a true reflection of who I am or anyone else! Be happy within your own skin the changes will follow! 😊
This talk is amazing as it is something we can all relate to 🙂
Do you ever have those days when you feel squashed flat – like a balloon that loses its air slowly? You want to float and bring joy to others at the party, and somehow keep deflating. Our energy rises and sets all the day. Like the sun setting and rising, the sun and moon passing each other into the day and night.
I have found a song that helps you “rise” up and bring hope plus inspiration.
I refer to “Mojo” as energy. What happens when your mojo takes a dive and the tank is empty? How can you refill it when you are dragging through the day as it is?
First I stop and breathe. The art of breathing is so important and many of us forget that we can use this to calm and refresh ourselves. No matter where we are in the busy day of life you can stop, shrug your shoulders, close your eyes, take a deep breath and let your cares be gone for a moment or two.
If we breathe shallow it feels like an asthma attack, when you have exercised to long and struggle to get the breathe in or even an anxiety attack. So no matter whether you are sitting in a chair at a desk, in a high rise, a office, a cafe, school or even driving your car. You can get your mojo back with a good calming breath.
It doesn’t take long before you will feel better and your body will have more energy!
Remember to Breathe! 🙂
Why do I call my program “Back to Basics”? I believe that to enjoy exercise getting back to the basics is important. Knowing how to move properly and safely, good technique results in more fun and less injury. Being able to move freely in your everyday life – exercises that are simple to do, fun to work with – bring inspiration, motivation and better health.
We are not designed to sit around and do nothing in our days. If we look back at our ancestors they were always moving, hunting and exploring. Being creative with ideas to improve their lifestyle, health and fitness. Its great these days we are not out running from dinosaurs or have to hunt for food like they did. A hunt in modern life could be going into the supermarket or market, finding what you are looking for then going home and cooking it. Much simpler than times gone past.
Back to Basics focuses on exercises that suit you the individual. It’s not a one size formula for everyone. Functional exercises that promote strength, flexibility, stability and endurance. I use a mix of different activities from free weights, boxing, circuit training, walks/runs, stretching, aquatic activities and more.
Fitness needs to be affordable and available to everyone. Back to Basics aims to address this and give people equal opportunity to train and become fitter. A fitter body results in a happier person – better quality of life. Lets get “Back to Basics” and see what you can do!
Love Anastacia 🙂

love you all
Everywhere I go I hear people talking about being the best or a new version of themselves. I mean what does it mean – the terms get thrown around in so many contexts that its hard to know whats real and what’s not. My context is to be the happiest and healthiest you can be. From that comes improvements in every area of your life. From small to big each improvement or goal achieved can help you be where you want to be.
Being honest, going from an overweight person to losing weight, it’s hard to know sometimes what it is exactly you are aiming for as you have nothing to compare yourself with. Obviously the body is going to be different from 25 years ago, four children, weight gain and loss. So to cover that area I chose to be happy with energy gained, inches lost, increased stamina and more positive as I went along. There are days where I still stumble – we all do – it’s getting back up and knowing you are ok as you are now not in the past or will be in the future.
We are all works in progress and its one day at a time – one step a time. There are many types of fitness and its finding new ideas adding to your quality of life. You want fitness to be fun,ok it will hurt sometimes and then it gets better as you train. Life is what we make it!
The end of 2016 is approaching quickly – 2017 about to be ushered in. New ideas and resolutions being made – celebrations to be had and life changes. For Fitness Today I want to bring you quality information that is fun, inspirational and motivational. I want real time results for people and would love to hear back from you. Fitness is about fun, being passionate about whatever you are doing and having a good quality of life.
For many years I never believed I was good enough and would stall at any excuse to not try something new. Many things I believed in were an absolute lie and did me no good – other than keep me down. Undoing those beliefs was very hard – painful at times and learning new ones challenging. Sometimes the ghosts raise their heads and I have to tame them. I say ok I know you are there – you are not me anymore. I am happy and deserve to be – so does everyone else!
Going from a size 22 to a 12-14 Australian ladies and maintaining it was a long road. Its a daily walk and each brings with it a unique set of learning conditions. Learning how to eat better – not diet – and have enough energy to get through each day without feeling flat or washed out. I am finding the more I learn the better it is and the more I can help others.
Whatever your weight, height, fitness level, age or sex, you can have better health. You deserve to be happy and this starts with becoming comfortable in your own skin no matter what you see in the mirror. Happy New Year for 2017 – may it be one of the best to come!
For years I struggled with my weight, depression, self esteem and my aversion to eating normally as I had no idea.
Four years have transformed my life on many ways. Down from a size 18 – 20 Australian to a healthy 12 – 14, I still have work to do and am healthy. My energy levels are up, clothes fit and are comfortable, feel good when looking in mirror – still working on the camera thing 🙂
Being a personal trainer is nothing like I originally thought them to be. It’s hard and rewarding work getting the qualifications – I have been blessed by great support from my work in Goulburn, my clients, friends and family. Even the strangers I have met in the places I visit inspire without realising it.
Change begins one at a time. With our body its at a cellular level – not skin deep as I originally thought. Things like stress can make you keep on weight due to a hormone called Cortisol – a byproduct of survival caveman days.
You may have a resistance to insulin which I had never heard of before and am working on.
That baby is a pain as you can be healthy as, eat well, train hard and still be slow with the metabolism. As crazy as it sounds the body does not burn energy as well as it can and stores the energy for later – ie fat. So I am working on food to help with this solution and exercise and still have weight to lose.
At five foot 2, I am not skinny, young or glamorous. I want to be comfortable with myself as I am – bumps, lumps, curves and the person I see in the mirror – me. I have to be real in order to help my clients by first believing in me and that’s been a big challenge which is a struggle at times even today.
Our bodies are amazing things they get us through every day. Even when we sleep our systems are running – automatically converting energy and using what you need on a daily basis.
Learning to like yourself, leads to self love and you being happy in your own skin. Its not about what you will look like when you lose weight, losing weight for someone else – its gotto be for you. Results can be acheived for other motivations and seldom last – this doing it for yourself is life changing and you benefit. Its not what others think of its your choice.
Remember you are good enough as you are now no matter the weight or reflection or even medical conditions you may have. You have the ability to change your mind and choices even if you are in a wheelchair. Lifes what we make it 🙂
Have a great day – till next time,
Fitness is more than moving getting sweaty and moving to the latest trend in exercise. It is more than the amount of calories burnt, more than the size your clothes say you are, more than the reflection in the mirror. Fitness is ongoing with each breathe you take.
My take on fitness is it is about energy. As human beings we are made up of energy, we need food to fuel our bodies in all the processes – not only exercising – breathing, the beating of our heart, blood circulations, our brains health and so much more. Fitness is the energy we use on a daily basis on our body the things we do and don’t see.
Science shows us that we use energy in every process each and every second – voluntary and involuntary processes – breathing, heart beating, food digestion and in every part of the 11 parts of our bodies systems.
I am turning 46 and coming into the industry later than most. I am not your young and glamorous 20 something with a fantastic body. I have lost 30 kilograms and multiple dress sizes. I am blessed to have the opportunity to work with the most amazing people and which at times they don’t realise how much they influence me. Mental health, disabilities, age it does not matter we are all human beings with the similar if not same issues. Fitness its about the energy we use, how you see yourself (mental health we all have this), abilities does not matter what the age. We are human with differences in skin and age that is all.
I am passionate about being the best you can be – I used to hate looking in the mirror at the gym. Now I see a positive reflection – strength, courage, kindness, compassion and resolve. My mission is to see you be the best you – you can be – unique one of a kind that you are.
